At 18:00 on October 22, 2021, the first event of the Lectures Series on Introduction to Classic Frontier Works for Postgraduates was successfully held in Room 502 of the Complex Building at Xueyuanlu Campus. The topic of this lecture was the introduction to Culture and Anarchy. The speaker was Xie Juan, Associate Professor of the Institute of English Studies and Doctor of British and American literature of Peking University; Dr. Nie Hua, Deputy Director of the Institute of English Studies, served as the moderator; Prof. Zhang Lei, Vice Dean of the School of Foreign Studies, served as the guest commentator. In addition, Associate Prof. Ding Tao, Director of the Institute of English Studies, Associate Prof. Liu Ruiying of the Institute of English Studies, and Dr. Zhang Shanshan of the Institute of German Studies attended the 2.5-hour lecture together with the students.
