On November 5, 2022, the First Conference on Translation and Cultural Communication co-sponsored by the School of Foreign Studies of China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL), Confucius Institute at the University of Bucharest (the CI at Bucharest), the Chinese Studies of the Department of Oriental Languages and Literatures of the University of Bucharest (Romania), CICG Academy of Translation and Interpretation, and the School of European Languages and Cultures of Beijing Foreign Studies University, (BFSU), was successfully held online. The theme of the conference was “Translation and Cultural Communication from a Multidisciplinary Perspective.” Shi Jianzhong, Vice President of CUPL, Zhao Gang, Vice President of BFSU, and Wang Jiyu, Acting Dean of CICG Academy of Translation and Interpretation, addressed at the opening session. Huang Youyi, Executive Vice President of Translators Association of China (TAC), Vice President of China Academy of Translation, and former Deputy Director and Editor-in-Chief of CICG, Zhang Falian, Vice Dean of the School of Foreign Studies of CUPL, Zhou Jialei, Chinese Co-Director of the CI at Bucharest, and Luminița Bălan, Romanian Co-Director of the CI, delivered keynote speeches.
