The program of Legal English aims at preparing students to become high-caliber talents with a broad international perspective, multiple skills and interdisciplinary knowledge, and who have a solid English foundation and comprehend scientific laws. Upon completion of the program, students are expected to be able to have a good command of the English language and literature, and to comprehend the basic knowledge of law by taking courses of law as well as by accessing the abundant academic resources of legal studies. Students are therefore qualified to undertake law-related works in the field of education, translation, management, foreign affairs and so on. Students will develop a solid English foundation, acquire knowledge of the legal systems and legal norms of China and major western countries, and master basic characteristics of legal linguistics. In this way, they are cultivated to be integrated professionals of “English + Law” and will be able to integrate English language with legal practices.
