I. Introduction of Contest
The “FLTRP·ETIC Cup” English Writing Contest is a large-scale public welfare contest sponsored by Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press and jointly organized by Beijing Waiyan Online Digital Technology Limited Company and China Language Assessment. Launched in 2012, the contest aims to promote English writing teaching, improve students’ English writing skills and lead the reform and development of foreign language writing teaching in colleges and universities. By virtue of its authority, scholarship and professionalism, the contest has been selected into the “National College Student Contest List” issued by the China Association of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education for consecutive years, and has been included in the provincial level contest projects by many education authorities of our country. The contest has been recognized for its achievements in leading ideas, cultivating talents and promoting education.
The “FLTRP·ETIC Cup” English Writing contest provides a bridge for young students to understand China and communicate with the world, as well as a platform for them to think profoundly and express confidently. The contest not only test students’ language ability, critical thinking ability and cross-cultural communication ability, but also help them expand their knowledge, broaden their vision and sharpen their will, so as to become a promising youth dedicated to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
II. Qualification
The contest is open to college undergraduates and postgraduates under the age of 35 with Chinese nationality.
Contestants who have once won the overseas or Hong Kong, Macao exchange award in previous “FLTRP·ETIC Cup” English Writing Contests are excluded

V. The Registration Time
The online preliminary round: Sep 24, 2022 (Saturday);
The deadline of registration: 16:00, Sep 17.
VI. Date and Venue of the Contest
Participate in the online preliminary round in the school computer room;
Time: 9:00-11:00 on September 24, 2022.
Venue: TBC. (Please check on the school’s official website on Sep. 22).
VII. Contest Procedure/Format
Online Preliminary Round:
Please log in the contest website half an hour before the start of the contest. The exam time is 120 minutes. The question type includes one argumentative essay (about 500 words) and one expository/practical essay (300-500 words).

VIII. Awards
There are grand prize, first prize, second prize and third prize, which account for 1%, 5%, 10% and 15% of the total number of competitors, respectively. (Special note: The quota for each school to advance to the provincial finals will be determined by the organizing committee of the provincial finals. Grand prize places are not equal to places in the provincial finals.)
