At 2 p.m. on May 18, 2023, the School of Foreign Studies at China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) organized a special lecture series on the “Translation of Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law”. The lecture took place in Room 0102 of the Complex Building at the Haidian Campus. Huang Youyi, former Deputy Director-General of China International Communications Group (CICG), current Executive Vice President of the Translators Association of China (TAC), Vice President of the China Academy of Translation, and Director of the Expert Committee for China National Committee for Graduate Education of Translation and Interpreting, delivered an insightful lecture titled “Several Fundamental Elements for Enhancing State Translation Capacity”. The lecture was moderated by Prof. Zhang Qing, Dean of the School of Foreign Studies, and attended by Prof. Li Guoqiang, Chair of the School Council, Prof. Tian Linan, Vice Dean and Director of the Education Center for Master of Translation and Interpreting (MTI), Prof. Zhang Falian, Vice Dean, and several faculty members from the School of Foreign Studies. Additionally, representatives from our graduate programs and undergraduate programs in legal translation were also in attendance. The lecture was conducted in a hybrid format, combining both online and offline participation.
