At 14:00 on November 4, 2020, the Mock Trial Contest of the 6^th Law and Translation Culture Festival, sponsored by the School of Foreign Studies, was successfully held in Conference Room B211 of the Research Building at the Xueyuanlu Campus of China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL). Judges of the contest include Wang Fang, associate professor of the School of Foreign Studies of CUPL, Cai Yuanpei, master supervisor of the School of Criminal Justice, Xuan Xuan, judge of the People’s Court of Haidian District in Beijing, Wu Zishuo, extramural supervisor of Master of Translation and Interpreting (MTI) and member of the Translators Association of China, and Zhang Tong, doctoral candidate of the School of International Law of CUPL. Two participating teams held mock trials in turn. The procedures of the mock trail included opening statement, direct examination, cross examination, jury deliberation etc. The verbal exchanges between the prosecution and the defense was a miniature of the adversary-system court trial under the Anglo-American legal system.
