General Secretary Xi Jinping has repeatedly emphasized the importance of strengthening the rule of law in foreign-related matters, stating: "We must uphold confidence in the rule of law, actively interpret the concept, propositions and successful practices of the rule of law in foreign-related affairs with Chinese characteristics, and tell the stories of China's rule of law well in the new era." Legal text translation serves as a catalyst for foreign-related rule of law work and a bridge for international communication of China's rule of law.
On the afternoon of December 17, the Legislative Affairs Commission of the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee convened a handover meeting for its Legal Translation and Review Expert Committee. China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) was recognized as one of six member units, with three CUPL professors—Ma Jing and Sun Pinghua from the School of Foreign Studies, and Professor Liu Jingkun at the Academy for the Rule of Law—appointed as translation commissioners. Professor Ma Jing was re-elected for a second term. Liu Linlin, Director of CUPL's Party Committee Organization Department, delivered remarks as a representative of member units, while Luo Zhimin, Director of Personnel Office, attended the meeting. Shen Chunyao, Director of the Legislative Affairs Commission, presented appointment certificates to commissioners and member units. The meeting was chaired by Wang Ruihe, Deputy Director of the Commission.
